Yulia comes from a diverse cultural background and 3 failed attempts at applying for Canadian permits and permanent residence that allows her to deeply understand her clients on a personal level and support them with a sympathetic yet honest and professional advice.
Yulia was born in Russia but comes from a Korean ethnic background, she knew that working in immigration field is the right choice for her as it is deeply rooted in her family history. Yulia fluently speaks Russian and English, her Korean is at a conversational and dormant level as she does not use it often. She came to Canada as a student and followed her immigration journey by obtaining her permanent residence through Express Entry – Canadian Experience Class, concluding with obtaining citizenship in Canada.
Prior to joining UL Lawyers, Yulia worked in immigration boutique firms and corporate companies, allowing her to gain extensive experience handling a great variety of immigration cases under various programs. Yulia loves observing immigration trends and believes that global mobility is key to a country’s economic and social development. Yulia strives to provide her clients with all available options for immigration based on their individual circumstances and working together to find the best solution.
In her free time, Yulia loves being outdoors and discovering bike trails around Toronto when the weather allows for such activities. She enjoys visiting art galleries, hosting guests, and finding ways to be efficient with her time in all aspects of her life.
